training

Training is our job, our purpose, it is our core. Everything else we do, our consulting, our manuals, our expert opinions revolve around a properly trained hospitality employee.

We have always believed that if bar or club employees were trained better; in exactly what they needed to know and understood the reasons why things are the way they are, they would be better employees. We also believe that a well trained employee would be better able to identify, prevent and solve many of the very costly and often dangerous problems that surface on a regular basis.

Our goal was to have the best training programs available that truly helped to create a safe and legal operation. To achieve this goal, we spoke to industry leaders, operators, law enforcement agency's and finally, the ground level guard to see what they felt they needed to know about.

The result was phenomenal! We have designed some of the most cutting edge educational programs for any industry in the country. They are interactive, honest, exceptionally presented, factual and now, online. Our programs have been used to train over 5000 hospitality employees in licensed establishments nationwide and were the guide in State of California and the City of Providence, RI for their In House Guard licensing program.

expert opinions

We were asked to provide our first legal opinion over 12 years ago. When finished, the defendants attorney couldn't believe the points we had made and the information we provided. To this day, this sort of response isn't abnormal to us. Attorney's representing plaintiffs or defendants are still amazed when they ask questions and we give them responses other "experts" have never mentioned or never thought of.

We pride ourselves on not just reading the depositions but also reading between the lines to show other issues that may not have been discovered to assist our clients. We enjoy the ability to be honest, open and direct about a guest actions, an employees reactions, a bar's policy or the actions in a video.

Another enjoyable part of expert work is that when there is possibly no case or a strong case, our reputation and honesty might save all parties allot of money and time. Additionally, we are very selective and not at all frightened by the thought of turning away a client, a law firm or an insurance company.

liability assessments

Wouldn't it be great to be able to call upon a police or state inspector to evaluate your operation on every level imaginable and never fear any harsh sanctions if they discovered activity in violation of state or local law? Of course it would.

Well, you can do almost exactly that by using our company's services. Our "liability assessment" program is another first in the hospitality industry and is helping owners proactively bring their operation into compliance and avoid many possible violations.

We evaluate and examine your criminal, civil and administrative liability potential based on your employees, your operation and your current operating procedures, or lack thereof. After we’re done, and only if the client requests one, we will provide a detailed list of our discoveries and possible solutions. This assessment can truly open eyes and save hundreds of thousands of dollars.

liability documentation forms

Documenting small and large incidents is sometimes a tiring and forgotten task. However, if completed as part of a routine, the small and sometimes large reports can help the insurance company and attorney's to deal with the incident months or years down the road.

Our trademarked, fill in the blank forms can help any employee, new or old, keep track of the smallest of incidents.

Our Daily Safety Checklist will show a pattern of screening the important safety points as part of the opening routine for the guards. Checking the lighting, the exits, the fire extinguisher and more can show your venue was prepared in the event of a disaster.

Our Refusing Entry Form can show that the staff can identify potential problems before they ever enter the club or bar. From dress code to over intoxication, this form will help speed up the simple and important task of documenting when someone is turned away at the door.

liability secret shopping

We feel the most expensive part of doing business for any bar, club or other entertainment venue is the cost of liability mistakes. What we're talking about are the costs of insurance, the cost of violent incidents, the cost of excessive force, the cost of a server not screening that underage ID correctly and anything else that deals with citations, sanctions, penalties, arrests or court judgements.

Until now, for the operator who wanted to be proactive in checking their employees work, skills and actions, there was nothing for them to do other then watch and wait. Not any more.

Our liability secret shopper programs are as unique as anything else we do. There are many possible problem areas for any liquor licensee to worry about but we feel the two most dangerous are the over-service of alcohol and serving alcohol to a minor.

To help the operator proactively address these issues, we use knowledgeable and experienced operators to enter and watch your staff. We aren't watching for their dinner presentation or the proper folding of the napkin. No, instead, we are searching for what local police or state agents would watch for; Violations of the law and violations of internal policy.

Secondly, we conduct modified minor decoy operations to see if your staff are truly on their toes and are properly screening that younger persons identification or denying them entry into the venue.

We are the best at what we do and our shopping programs address liability issues better than any other method currently available in the hospitality industry.
